This year, I registered for the Komen Race for the Cure because I wanted to take action and be More Than Pink™.
So, let's be real, you all know I hate pink, but this is the color assigned, this ugly monster...So, let's be More Than Pink together!
I had my mammogram November 19th, and was diagnosed with breast cancer December 14th. We found out it was Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, positive for all 3 receptors December 26th, and we were diagnosed we were Stage 3, January 14th. It has been a trying road since. We started our first round of chemo February 1st. (Hey, at least it's an easy day to remember!) There have been reactions, one-in-a-million chance things that have happened, and irritating side-effects, but through it all I have had Amazing champions!
You guys have caught me when I have fallen into pity/disparity. You guys have encouraged me when I felt down. You guys have assured me when I have felt less than human. And you have comforted me when I have cried (Because we all know, I don't handle that sh** well.)
We have finished the first round of chemo, and I had my mastectomy. There will still be radiation, more infusions, and more surgeries, but we are undoubtedly through the worst!
Now, I would love for us all to come together to celebrate coming out the other side!
You may have noticed I have said "we" since my diagnosis. That is because WE have all gone through this together, and I couldn't have done it without you ALL!
Through everything, I have constantly thought about those that don't have the financial ability or unconditional support from friends and family. Those are the one's I want to support. Let's join together... Celebrate life, strength, and love, and do something to help others!
Add your name to the list!
