Join Me in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

This year the Komen Race in Charlotte is virtual. No big start in uptown, no sprinting across the finish line, no one cheering that you can do it. But that is what happens on a daily basis to surviors and those battling cancer. There is no big ceremony, just those you love praying for and pushing you to go.
Those who know me know that this is a yearly tradition. My mom, Mary Smith, has battled ovarian and breast cancer since I was 8 years old (I'm almost 43). Four years ago she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast cancer and given 3 years. Well, she has passed that mark and we are thankful daily for it. So, because she continues to fight I continue to run every year.
While I will not be running through the streets of Charlotte with my boys cheering me on I will be running on Saturday, October 3rd in my neighborhood. I will still be honoring the fight of Mary Smith, Deborah Keich, and memory of Donna Miller. Please support my efforts and donate to my run.
Thank you,
Jan
